Notes:

  1. An email alias is a nickname for an existing email address. Each email alias you create forwards email to an email address of your choice on your account. Email aliases are often used as nicknames for long, difficult-to-remember email addresses. They are also used to create generic email addresses such as webmaster@domain.com or info@domain.com.

For example: Suppose Sally is a site owner with the alias webmaster@domain.com. She has added a user, George, with the designated alias, catchall@domain.com. All incoming mail addressed to webmaster@domain.com goes to Sally's Inbox, and all incoming mail addressed to unknown users or aliases goes to George's Inbox.

  2. The email alias "catchall@domain.com" is a special alias. It will "catch", or receive, all email to unknown users or aliases. To change the username that receives the catchall emails, delete that alias and add it again under the desired username.
